Final Video-
For this project we were asked to recreate a scene using one of two scripts we were sent. I chose the first script for my project. I did this project by filming and recording sounds then putting it together using 'Adobe Premier Pro', I also used an application called 'Cute Cut Pro' to do a few finishing touches. I used a DSLR camera for the majority of filming (one scene was filmed on an Iphone 11 back camera), and I used a Zoom H1N for the voice over.
While I was working on the post production of this project I felt very confident with how it would turn out, I had some ideas of how I wanted to set it all out and put it together. Once I was done and had watched and listened back at all my clips I knew I had some things to add/ improve on, which I did do. At the end of all the post production I had soe doubts but I knew they had room for improvement, I was assured in what I could produce.
I think the lineing up my voice over to the original clips went fairly well, also I created some of my own Foley and Ambient sounds to use like; the second outdoor sound, the gasp and the blind going down. I would say I used them excelently. I didn't think my voice over went as well as it sound be because it is a bit quiet, but I believe that is my fault due to not changing the auto level on the Zoom H1N to a good enough setting. I also think I could improve on some sound effects to make them sound a bit more natural/ fit the video more.
For the sound effects I recorded some of my own ones using my phone mic and used some non- copyrighted sounds. A few of my sounds were just made by voice, like the gasp and the breathing. To make the outdoor sound I stuck my phone out the window and let it pick up anything it could, this genuinly just made it as natural as I could. Then for the blind going down I just recorded my putting it down and added it over the original sound as it had talking in the background. The background music I used was a non-copyrighted sound from youtube, as well as the Iphone ring/ hangup. The crow sound effect I used in the first outdoor clip I got from a sound libary.
Next time i think the voice over could be improved, as much as the lining up went pretty well it could be louder/ clearer. I can improve by playing around with the audio levels and seeing what fits best in multiple recordings. So from this I have learnt to look at the audio levels properly and record a couple more voice overs.
If I was to do this project again I would keep all recording knowledge and the use of my own/ sound libary sound effects but improve on my voice over recording knowledge. I would also try and fit some sound effects better.
